The legislative authority of the government of the City of Camilla is vested in the Council, which is composed of six (6) members. The members serve for terms of four (4) years and until their respective successors are elected and qualified. Three (3) members are elected from and by the voters of Council District No. 1, and three (3) members are elected from and by the voters of Council District No. 2. The seat of Mayor Protem rotates annually and is voted upon by the City Council.

The Council meets in regular session on the second Monday of each month. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 30 East Broad Street, and begin at 6:30 p.m.

Work Sessions are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at City Hall and begin at 6:30 p.m.
